What is your purpose?

Yes, I'm talking to you wisdom teeth!

That's right, ya'll - this time tomorrow I'll be sitting in a dentist chair, doped up and having my teeth yanked out.

I.Am.Terrified.Terrified.Terrified.*

I've been dreading this day for years. Over the course of my life, my parents have spent a small fortune on my teeth. Teeth are very important to my Mom, probably because hers are perfect. Like neither one of us have every had a cavity perfect. Because of this fortune, the Dentist recommended that the teeth come out so that they don't push the other teeth together making the three years of braces, basically a waste of time.

So here we are, 24 hours from my fears - needles and pain. I've done everything short of pulling a Plaxico Burress and shooting myself in the leg to get out of this, but alas tomorrow morning I'll be in the chair. Prayers and positive thoughts needed.

*I respectfully request no stories about pain, scalpels, needles and the like, however pleasant stories about ice cream, pain killers, and mashed potatoes are welcomed and even encouraged :)

Oh dear! I'm sorry! I only have one wisdom tooth, and the dentist said it could stay in because it's not bothering anything, so I don't have any wisdom tooth stories, but I did have surgery on my mouth once. It went by really quickly, and then I got to eat a lot of ice cream. :) Good luck tomorrow! It'll be over before you know it!

Good luck! No shame, I am also afraid of all of the above!

Girl - it will be fine! Don't drink through a straw. Just don't. The good news is you will sleep for like 3 days straight. I remember when I had mine out it was a Monday and I woke up on Wednesday!! Ha!

Only good thoughts coming your way :) Both my children had this done. It went very smoothly because we followed EVERY direction from the doctor to the letter - they had no problems. Buy frozen peas in the bags - use those on your face the first couple days. The peas conform to the shape of your face and work wonders to lessen swelling! AS had a bit of swelling - hardly any - and PD had even less. They took the pain meds (as needed) + ibuprofen (I think; ask your doc) to lessen the swelling. You won't have any problems! Good Luck and keep us posted!!

Sending you fabulous thoughts of popsicles, mashed potatoes, jello, ice cream and everything soft and comforting.

May your dentist have gentle hands and a lovely assistant to soothe you.

I'll be thinking good thoughts for you tomorrow.

it'll all be ok sweet pea.

I've never had mine out but I've heard a lot of stories about how it really isn't as bad as it's hyped up to be. So breathe, I'm sure it'll all be fine! (Plus it gives you an excuse to do absolutely nothing for at least a day or two!)

It's not really all that bad. You're down for the day of and the day after and then you bounce back pretty quickly!
